Steps to Getting a Driver’s License in Japan
At Musashisakai Driving School, students work toward their license step by step through theory lessons and practical driving lessons. Training is divided into Stage 1 and Stage 2. After graduation, students take the final written test at a driver’s license center. This page introduces the general process from enrollment to graduation.

Complete Enrollment
To begin your training, you will first complete the enrollment process. Please prepare the required documents. If you would like English support, please make a reservation before visiting the school. For details on required documents and enrollment conditions, please see

After Enrollment
After completing enrollment, you will attend:
- Orientation: 4:30 PM–5:00 PM
- Aptitude Test: 5:10 PM–6:00 PM
- Introductory Theory Lesson, Lesson 1: 6:10 PM–7:00 PM
*English support is available by reservation.

*If you only have a Japanese moped license, please select "No." A moped license does not exempt you from any steps in the licensing process.
Regular Car License Process

Regular Car License (AT / MT)
You will learn the fundamentals of safe driving and basic operations.

Completion Test
After completing Stage 1, students take the completion test for driving skills.
