How to Enroll — English Support Available
This page explains the enrollment requirements, required documents, procedures, and payment methods for enrolling at Musashisakai Driving School. English-speaking staff can guide you through the process — if you'd like support in English, please make a reservation in advance via the Contact Form, as English-speaking staff are limited.

Eligibility Requirements
To enroll, you must meet the age and vision requirements for the license category you wish to obtain.

Age Requirements
Regular Car License (AT / MT):
- 17 years and 6 months or older
Semi-Medium Vehicle License:
- 17 years and 6 months or older
Medium Vehicle License:
- 20 years or older, with at least 2 years of driving experience after obtaining a regular car license or equivalent
Regular Motorcycle License:
- 16 years or older
Large Motorcycle License:
- 18 years or older

Vision Requirements
Regular Car and Motorcycle Licenses
- At least 0.7 vision in both eyes combined
- At least 0.3 vision in each eye
Semi-Medium and Medium Vehicle Licenses
- At least 0.8 vision in both eyes combined
- At least 0.5 vision in each eye
- Average depth perception of 20 mm or less in the depth perception test
*Glasses or contact lenses may be used if needed.
Required Items for Enrollment
Please prepare the following items when enrolling.

Resident Certificate (Juminhyo)
Please bring a Resident Certificate issued within the last month.

Identification
A valid ID — Residence Card, My Number Card, Student ID, or Passport. Foreign residents must bring their Residence Card.

Driver’s License
If you already have a Japanese driver’s license, please bring it with you.

Glasses or Contact Lenses
If you need glasses or contact lenses to drive, please bring them for the aptitude test.

Photo for Your Student Record
Taken during enrollment. Please remove hats, masks, and colored contact lenses beforehand.

Tuition Fees
Please prepare payment for your selected course. For available payment methods, please see the Payment Methods section below.

Applicants with Disabilities
If you have a hearing impairment, physical disability, or other condition that may affect your ability to obtain a driver’s license in Japan, you may need to consult a driver’s license center in advance. Please contact us before visiting.

First Aid Training Exemption
Students with certain medical qualifications, such as doctors, nurses, or emergency lifesaving technicians, may be exempt from first aid training. If this applies to you, please bring your professional certification when enrolling.
Payment Methods
We offer several payment options for your convenience.

Cash / Debit Card
You may pay the full training fee or make a deposit of ¥30,000 or more. If you pay a deposit, the remaining balance must be paid in cash or by one of the payment methods below within one week of enrollment and before your training begins.

Installment Plans / Student Loans
Installment payment plans are available through:

Loan applications require screening by the financing company and may take time for approval.

After Enrollment
After completing enrollment, you'll attend the orientation, aptitude test, and Introductory Theory Lesson 1, generally held from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM (4:30–6:00 PM if you already hold a license other than a moped license).

If you'd like English support during orientation, please make a reservation in advance.

Same Day Attendance
To attend orientation the same day as enrollment, arrive around 3:00 PM (2:30 PM on weekends and public holidays) and let staff know.

Vision Test
If you don't pass the vision test, you'll attend orientation on another day instead.

Theory Lesson 1
Introductory Theory Lesson 1 follows orientation and the aptitude test as part of the same session.
